Safer Internet Day (SID) is a global campaign celebrated annually in February to raise awareness of the importance of staying safe online.

The internet is a global network where a variety of information and communication facilities are made available using standardized communication protocols. Due to the sheer amount of information available on the internet, there is a need for safety in the internet or cyber world.

Although no business is safe from cyber threats, some industries and businesses such as finance and healthcare are much more attractive targets for hackers. This is because they contain valuable information such as medical records and other personal data. Meanwhile, lower-risk industries are usually targeted because of the perception that they may have fewer security measures. We are presently living in a world where all the information is maintained in a digital or a cyber-form. Social networking sites provide a space where users feel safe as they interact with friends and family. Privacy and security of the data will always be top security measures that any organization will take as a priority.

In the contemporary world that is run with the aid of technology and network connections. It is vital to know what cyber security is and to be able to use it effectively. Systems, important files, data and information, and different critical digital matters are at risk if there is no security to protect them.

Whether it is an IT organization or not, every organization has to be protected equally. With the development and deployment of fresh technology in cyber security, the attackers (hackers) similarly do not fall behind. They are building and learning better and enhanced hacking techniques and targeting the weak points of many businesses.

Cyber security is important because virtually all areas (military, government, financial, medical and corporate organizations) gather and use different data inventories in unprecedented quantities of data on PCs and other devices.

An important part of that data can be sensitive information, whether that be intellectual property, financial data, personal information, or other various kinds of data for which illegal access could ensure negative effects.

Cyber security is majorly about protecting corporate networks, government agencies and private enterprises, seeking to make it difficult for hackers to find and exploit vulnerabilities. Cybersecurity is the practice of defending government or corporate computers, servers, and networks from malicious attacks and threats and keeping information like data safe and secure from unauthorized access.

Cybercrime is about exploiting human or security weaknesses in systems to steal data, money or passwords. Cybercrime is a very global problem that affects every corner of electronic activities in our daily life. The unity of International, regional and local Governments is essential to work together to fight against cybercrime.
